Ghost or Movie Scene?

I had the pleasure to spend about three days in Savannah with the All State Chorus. I love that city!

On Thursday morning I walked down River Walk as the group was at the Civic Center rehearsing. I had a bowl of my favorite ice cream, my favorite music from the 50's playing in the background, the river flowing right across the street, and rain pouring down making the whole thing even more magical!

Friday was spent trying to get each group to wherever they needed to be, so that evening, instead of staying at the Civic Center, I decided to spend the two hours on the bus working on my Sudoku and taking a nap.

Around 8 p.m. I was awaken by a female voice saying "Somebody help me!"
I thought I was imagining things so I let it go and tried to get back to my nap...

About 10 minutes later, I heard it again, this time repeated twice. I sat up and decided to look around (from the safety of the bus). Since I could not see anything, I decided to work on my Sudoku for a while as I waited to see if perhaps I had been dreaming about the voice.

A few minutes later, the same voice again asked for help. This time, I turned off the light and walked to the end of the bus, opened a window and waited. Sure enough, about 10 minutes later, I heard it again.

I looked around to see if I could see anything, and all I could see where cars and people walking. As with times before, people never stopped to see what was going on. I must assume that no one else could hear the voice.

I took my cell phone out and got ready to call 911. I did not know what to make of the whole thing. I just stood on the bus waiting for it to happen again.

By now it was about 8:35 p.m. The bus driver had returned from a dinner meeting with a friend and was in a car talking; a couple was walking across the gravel lot; the voice spoke again "Somebody help me! Somebody help me!"

I waited a few minutes and saw the couple boarding the bus in front of ours. I opened the doors and walked towards them. I asked the man if he had heard the voice. He said no. I told him that he was in the middle of the lot when the voice spoke, but he replied that they had not heard anything. When I told him what was happening, he just suggested a call 911.

By that time, our bus driver came to the bus, so I told him of the events. As I was finishing my story, the voice came again, this time repeating the plea three times. He did not hear the plea, but heard what sounded like a gasp and it was coming from the same direction as my voice.

We could only see people walking and not flinching at all and another couple walking in the lot, so we went to them and asked them if they heard the voice. They, as the others, said no!

Now, there was a film crew in the area, so we both thought it might come from the movie set.

The puzzling thing, though, was that no one seemed to have heard what I heard.

If you are from Savannah and are used to movie sets, you might not stop. However, if you are not from Savannah and are not used to movie making, chances are you will stop for a while to see what is going on. And during this past weekend, there were thousands of tourist because of All State Chorus, Swim meets, and other events! No one ever stopped or even behaved as if they heard a cry for help!

So, it is up to you to decide whether the voice I heard was that of a poor soul from the past or a scene from the movie set!

I think it was a ghost
