After reading an article on Yahoo about one individual challenging herself to accomplish something specific, I decided I would do the same. Except my goals are different from hers.
I realized I spent too much time playing games on Facebook. Nothing wrong with it, IF I did not have anything else I needed to do. However, I do have a list of things I need to accomplish before summer is over; therefore, I created an Excel spreadsheet with challenges I am going to tackle this week. Every day, I sign in and mark off those things I do manage to complete.
I am sharing this, not to bore you with my list of challenges (this is why I am not listing them), but to invite you to join me in challenging yourself to accomplish something you have been regularly postponing.
This is sort of a New Year's resolution list, except that we are starting it during the second part of the year.
Will you accept this challenge?
To get you motivated, I found the following:
Necessity of action takes away the fear of the act, and makes bold resolution the favorite of fortune.
Francis Quarles
So, make that change a necessity in your life. Any fear you may have of actually accomplishing the task will vanish leaving the opening for change to happen.
If your resolution is a daily change, and you happen to "skip" one day, don't give up. Just keep on trying!
Good luck. I will report back on this challenge on June 8, 2011.
