Count Your Blessings... Name Them One by One

Any day is a good day to count our blessings. However, today I feel I need to share thoughts about the power of prayer and the blessings our Heavenly Father gives us.

This morning we said a prayer and, among other things, we asked that we might be blessed in our travels.

A few hours later, I received a phone call from my daughter telling me the truck had broken down. She was parking it at the college and would not change from reverse to drive or even park. She had to shut the engine off in order to make it stop. Upon trying to get it started, it would not start.

So, here are the blessings, and I am counting them one by one:

1. our prayer was answered. Chiara was kept safe in her travel. Had the problem happened while she was driving, she would have been in trouble (as in accident trouble).
2. the parking lot was leveled. Had it not been leveled, her truck would have rolled away and possibly hit something or someone.
3. our mechanic was able to call a tow truck at a less expensive cost than if I had called directly.
4. the part that broke is only a $3.00 part.
5. we may be able to get the money back on the towing charge through our insurance.
6. the whole thing (including the towing) is going to be about $150.
7. the work will be done today, so we don't have to rent a vehicle.

Now, these are the blessings on just one event. If, at the end of the day, I will take the time to evaluate the rest of the day, I am sure I will come up with blessings in multiples of 7.

So, take the time today to count your blessings. Name those blessings one by one. You will find that He loves us and protects us in ways we don't even know!

Have a safe and happy day everyone!
