“This life is an experience in profound trust—trust in Jesus Christ, trust in His teachings, trust in our capacity as led by the Holy Spirit to obey those teachings for happiness now and for a purposeful, supremely happy eternal existence. To trust means to obey willingly without knowing the end from the beginning (see Proverbs 3:5–7). To produce fruit, your trust in the Lord must be more powerful and enduring than your confidence in your own personal feelings and experience. …
“As you trust Him, exercise faith in Him, He will help you.”
Elder Richard G. Scott of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, “Trust in the Lord,” Ensign, Nov. 1995, 17.
I read this part over and over as if trying to memorize it.
These are words that I am trying to live by during this time in my life.
As I am searching for a job, and being unable to find one, I must remind myself that He is in control of things and that everything happens with a purpose.
As I am searching for a job, and being unable to find one, I must remind myself that He is in control of things and that everything happens with a purpose.
I don't know what the purpose is. I admit that I wish I had my own crystal ball to tell me what is ahead, but if I had it, I would not longer be learning to live with trust and faith in Him.
I know He loves me and He wants what is best for me. Sometimes, His will and my desire are one and the same; however, most often, the two are totally different.
As I learn to trust and have faith in Him, I know I will be guided to where I need to be and I will do what it is that He would have me do for the benefit of my family, others, and my own.
I also know that He loves each and every one of us. He will bless each and everyone of us if we let Him guide us and lead us.
May we all find the peace, the comfort, and the security we are seeking as we live this earthly life and follow Him in faith end complete trust.
